Case Seven: Disability and Distance Consultations
One of my early distance clients, who was treated using email consultations, was a profoundly deaf lady. She had used homeopathy all her life for various conditions, but her first homeopath eventually retired and the second had moved from the locality. Because of her deafness, she found normal face to face consultations extremely tiring, and telephone consultations were out of the question. She was delighted to be able to continue homeopathic treatment using the email method and her well-being was restored in a short course of about three or four months of remedies.
Another lady has a condition called 'ankylosing spondylitis' which in her case means that the vertebrae of her spine have fused together as far up as the neck. She is housebound as a result, requiring assistance if she does want to go out for any reason, and is therefore very happy to have found a homeopath who can consult her using the telephone. There is nothing homeopathy or conventional medication can do to restore her spine of course, but I have been able to supply remedies that reduce the pain in her lower back sufficiently to allow her to sit at her computer for several hours at a time compared to a maximum of 90 minutes before treatment. She is delighted with this as she is able to work from home using her computer, and her productivity has obviously increased as a result. This lady prefers to use medications with no side effects but when necessary she uses both homeopathic remedies and conventional medication and they work well alongside each other.
